Letter to the Congregation: New Worship Service

Dear Lenape Valley,

God has called us to be the Mission of Jesus Christ to the World God so loves.  What an amazing calling!  Christians have been answering that call to “make disciples” for 2000 years.  And now it is our turn to be “light” and “salt” in a world that so desperately needs the good news of Jesus Christ.  The Elders of Lenape Valley have been praying together about how to respond to God’s call to share His love and grace.

Lenape Valley Church has been answering this call to the mission field since our birth in 1962.  In 2017, we are answering the call through The Church Has Left the Building planned for October 29th, our small groups, youth ministry, Genesis, EPIC, and VBS. We answer the call through our mission teams that have gone far and wide to make a difference in the name of Jesus, and through the grace-filled welcome that Lenape Valley offers each week to all who come through our doors. God is doing a good work in and through us, and we have been blessed by that gift!

Now, our Elders are praying about what the next stretch in ministry should be.  How do we reach our community with the good news of Jesus Christ?  How do we shine His light in our neighborhood?  How do we declare God’s love to those who desperately need His love?  To answer that call, the Elders of Lenape Valley Church have decided to begin the formation of a second worship service.  This worship experience will communicate the Gospel in the language of this world- the old, old story shared with the sounds and words familiar to our culture.  We are just beginning the first steps toward creating this new worship experience, so we do not know exactly what it will look like or when it will happen.

We ask you to join us in prayer as we seek new ways to share the good news of Jesus Christ to the world God so loves.

           Serving the Savior with you,

The Session of Lenape Valley Church
